The Importance of Self-Regulation

Event Date:

July 3, 2024

Event Time:

9:30 am

Event Location:

Seacombe Children

This course is for all practitioners in all Early Years settings.

Self-regulation involves children’s developing ability to regulate their emotions, thoughts and behaviour to enable them to act in positive ways toward a goal. In this training, we aim to explore the requirements of the EYFS and consider what this means for our daily practice.
We will consider:
What is self-regulation?
When and how does it begin?
What does this look like in your setting?
How are SR and behaviour management linked?
What is the practitioners role in supporting children to develop the ability to SR.

The course is carried out over two sessions, giving you opportunity to trial ideas, reflect on practice, feedback to the group and to make positive changes to your practice. We aim to offer a course that is designed to really embed the learning into your everyday practice.

Session 1 will be face to face, Session 2 will be virtual.
