Event Time:

Event Location:

Self-regulation involves children’s developing ability to regulate their emotions, thoughts and behaviour to enable them to act in positive ways towards a goal. In this training we aim to understand the meaning of self regulation, explore the requirements of the EYFS and consider what this means for our daily practice. We will also consider:

  • What is self regulation- when and how does it begin? What does this look like for children in your setting?
  • How are self-regulation and behaviour management linked?
  • What is the practitioners role in supporting children to develop the ability to self-regulate?

The course is carried out over three sessions giving you the opportunity to trial ideas, reflect on practice, feedback to the group and to make positive change to your practice. We aim to offer a course that is designed to really embed the learning into your everyday practice. These sessions will be run in partnership with the Educational Psychology Team.
